How to Grow Beans

Beans are a staple in many gardens due to their high yield and nutritional value.

Tomatoes

Tomatoes are a homestead staple. Their bright red fruit and distinctive smell are the truest signs of summer.

Onions

We multi-sow our onions to save on space.

Wheat

Being a grass, wheat can be sown and effectively left to do its own thing — even in poor soil and/or inclement weather.

Carrot Seed Saving

If stored correctly, carrot seeds can remain viable for up to 3 years.

Carrots

I bet we get through thousands of the things over the course of a year — carrots are a homestead essential.

Potatoes

Potatoes are the main staple of our homestead, and growing them makes me feel like a ‘proper’ farmer.

Cabbages

We grow an heirloom variety of both red and green cabbage: “Red Acre” and “Golden Acre”, respectively.

Eggplant

Eggplants (or aubergines) are one of the first things we grew at Escape.Farm.
